I am an animal lover to my core. Perhaps one could miss this trait if only one parent loved animals, but both my parents love animals, and so it was destiny.
Animals were always part of my upbringing. Not only did we have the standard dogs, cats, hamsters and gold fish, but we were also the neighborhood wild animal rehabilitation home. We raised birds, bunnies, racoons, squirrels, and various other suburban neighborhood dwellers -- anything that might live at the park across the street from my childhood home.
The one thing we didn't have that I came to realize I had to have in my life, was a horse. Neither of my parents were "horse people." This I get from my dad's dad. He grew up on a Minnesota farm and was very fond of horses. I don't know when it started for me because as far as I can remember back, I have always been connected to horses.
When I met my husband, I made sure to let him know that any serious relationship with me was more of a package deal. Along with any children that might come along, there would also be 4-footed fur-kids. We currently have 2 of each: a daughter, a son, a dog and a horse (of course).
In regards to photography, I initially thought I got that all from my dad, as he also made his living through professional photography. However, my mom is also extremely creative. Photography just happens to be the medium I fell in love with for expressing my creativity.
My favorite part of the portrait process is helping you choose and design images to decorate the walls of your home. Whether we're documenting your family or creating art to remember a beloved pet, I look forward to creating fine art for your home.
